The company needed to recover essential operational data stored on their Netgear NAS system to ensure business continuity. This data included critical MS Office files and PDFs necessary for daily operations and client deliverables.

Drive Specifications:

  • 3 HDDs with 2 TB each
  • Netgear NAS storage model
  • (BTRFS) Linux file system
  • Total media capacity: 6 TB

Issue:

  • 2 HDDs were non-working
  • Existing data in the media: 6 TB

  • Cloning of all 3 HDDs, each with a capacity of 2 TB
  • Finding the RAID configuration like Stripe Size, Data Flow, etc., to optimize data retrieval
  • Creation of linear images for streamlined recovery
  • 8 days of dedicated effort resulted in the successful recovery of almost all data to the client's satisfaction

The outcome of this extensive recovery effort was remarkable:

  • Total Data Recovered: 6 TB, approx.
